KALANI kakes
ABOUT
Aloha & Mahalo!
Kalani Kakes is a home-based bakery specializing in island
flavored cakes, cupcakes, mochi, cookies and jams (Sacramento County EMD #PR0137668-B). Dena, the baker
and owner, was heavily influenced by Hawaiian culture
growing up. Her parents grew up in Hawaii, and her husband was
also born in Hawaii. Hawaii has always been a special place
for Dena and her family. Dena has spent years baking as a hobby using Hawaiian and locally sourced ingredients in her home state of California, and established Kalani Kakes in 2019. Kalani means
"heavenly" or "from the heavens" in Hawaiian, making it a fitting name
for this special bakery also known as Heavenly Island Desserts.
Every product created at Kalani Kakes is unique and a result of our
island-style vision coupled with our creativity. Our entire menu was inspired by the movie, 50 First Dates. We pride ourselves on
making each cupcake and cake a delicious work of art. Whether you're planning a wedding, birthday party or any special event our unique
desserts will make it a celebration to remember.
Kalani Kakes has been featured on several tv segments including: "The Drew Barrymore Show", Hawaii News Now, in Edible Sacramento (spring 2022), featured as one of the top 10 popup restaurants in 2021 by The Sacramento Bee, and Dena has been a guest on multiple podcasts as well as a guest chef/baker at the California State Fair.
